Digital accessibility is about making digital content more accessible to users and communities with diverse access needs, including those who are disabled, chronically ill and/or neurodivergent (remembering, of course, that people can be all three at once!).
For example:
People who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or who have auditory processing difficulties, may struggle to access audio-based content, whether in audio-only formats like podcasts or voice recordings, or in audio-visual formats, like videos or vlogs.
People who are blind or vision impaired may struggle to access visual-based content, such as videos, graphics, or even website navigation tools.
Digital accessibility refers to the range of principles, techniques and strategies that digital content creators, including online businesses, can use to ensure that as wide an audience as possible can access what they publish or promote.
